GrowPro vs Heroship: A Branded App, or a Telehealth Brand You Own?

By the GrowPro team, led by Jessica Lynne White, PT · growpro.co

Disclosure: GrowPro wrote this page. GrowPro is the telehealth launch consultancy arm of Kickstart Social. Everything said about Heroship comes from their own website, linked under Sources, and we quote them wherever we can. If anything has changed, email hello@kickstartsocial.co and we will correct it.

These two are not the same product, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. Heroship builds a branded wellness app for someone who already has an audience: training, nutrition, sleep, habits and community, with telehealth and an online pharmacy connected inside it. GrowPro builds a telehealth brand you own outright. The reason they belong on the same page is that both end with your name on a health business, and the ownership underneath is completely different.

The short answer

Choose Heroship if you are a coach, creator or gym with an engaged audience, and the job to be done is giving those members a daily app with care attached, fast.

Choose GrowPro if the goal is a telehealth brand that is yours: your entity, your platform, your merchant account, your patients and your margin, with nobody taking a commission out of the middle.

Who actually controls the business

GrowPro's answers are ours. Every answer in the other column is quoted or summarized from Heroship's own page, and where their page is silent, we say so.

Where Heroship is strong, and it genuinely is

Where GrowPro is different

Who owns the thing you are building

Heroship's own footer is the clearest statement of the model: "Your brand. Powered by Heroship. Clinical care through Thrivelab." The app carries your name, and the platform and the clinical network belong to other companies. That is a partnership, and partnerships can be excellent. It is simply a different asset from a business you own outright. GrowPro builds on WellieMD, which Kickstart Social owns, and your entity, domain, website, merchant account and patient relationships are yours.

Commission versus margin

This is the part worth reading twice. Heroship's own revenue calculator assumes the partner earns a 20% commission on eligible store purchases. A commission means someone else sets the price, holds the relationship and keeps the rest. A GrowPro founder sets their own patient pricing, keeps the margin, and pays us nothing out of it. Over a few years on real volume, that distinction is usually larger than the entire cost of the build.

The certification question

We could not find LegitScript or HIPAA mentioned on Heroship's page. If prescription products are going to be sold inside your app under your name, ask who holds the certification, whose entity it is issued to, and what happens to your members if that relationship ends.

What you could sell one day

If you ever exit, a buyer is purchasing the patient relationships, the data, the recurring revenue and the infrastructure. Ask what you would actually be selling, and whether the platform and the clinical network come with it or stay behind.

A note on revenue numbers

Two of the three pages we compared on this topic lead with a revenue figure, and so do most programs in this category. We do not publish one, and the reason is not modesty.

The Federal Trade Commission treats an objective performance claim as something the advertiser must be able to substantiate with competent and reliable evidence held before the claim is made. For a launch program, that would mean audited, verifiable financials from a representative set of clients, not one good account. We do not have that, we cannot get it from businesses we do not own, and we are not going to estimate it.

So we publish what we can document instead: the advertising spend, the cost per lead, the screenshots of the accounts, and the build itself, line by line. You can see all of it on our unit economics calculator, where you put in your own numbers rather than reading ours.

This is not an accusation about anyone else's figures. It is a statement about the standard we hold ourselves to, and a suggestion: whatever number you are shown, ask what period it covers, how many clients it represents, and whether the business shown is the seller's own.

Questions to ask any launch program, including us

AskWhy it matters
LegitScript filed vs. actually approvedEveryone says filed. Ask how many of their brands were approved, and whose company name the certificate is issued to. GrowPro: 100% of ours approved, to date.*
Who owns the platformAsk whether they own the software or resell someone else's. GrowPro builds on WellieMD, owned by Kickstart Social.
Your site still exists if you leaveAsk whether the website lives on your hosting or theirs. A GrowPro site sits on your own hosting account, and you hold the files.
What the percentage is, and of whatRevenue share, profit share, exit clause, commission and platform margin are all percentages. GrowPro takes none of them.
What the timeline measuresA live storefront, a live app and an advertising-ready certified brand are three different finish lines. Ask which one the number counts.

*LegitScript approval reflects our track record to date and is not a guarantee of approval. LegitScript sets its own review standards and timeline.

Frequently asked questions

Is Heroship a telehealth launch company?

Not exactly. Heroship builds a branded wellness app for an existing audience, covering training, nutrition, progress tracking and community, with telehealth visits and an online pharmacy connected inside it. The telehealth is a layer on an app, rather than the business itself.

Who provides the clinical care in a Heroship app?

Thrivelab. Its own FAQ says "care is delivered by licensed medical providers through Thrivelab," and the footer reads "Your brand. Powered by Heroship. Clinical care through Thrivelab." GrowPro builds on WellieMD, which Kickstart Social owns, with clinical care through Beluga Health and licensed partner pharmacies named openly on welliemd.com.

How does Heroship make money, and what do I earn?

Its page says the commercial model is walked through on the demo. Its own calculator assumes the partner earns a 20%% commission on eligible store purchases, which means the other 80% stays elsewhere, while subscription receipts go to the partner. Ask them to confirm the split in writing. A GrowPro client owns the brand and the margin outright and pays us nothing from either.

Does Heroship include LegitScript?

We could not find LegitScript or HIPAA mentioned anywhere on their page on October 25, 2026. Ask them directly, especially if you intend to advertise prescription products.

Should I pick one or could I use both?

They solve different problems and they are not mutually exclusive. If your business is coaching and community, an app that keeps members engaged daily is a reasonable thing to want. If your goal is to own a telehealth brand, including the patient relationship, the margin and the asset you could one day sell, that is a different build. Several of our founders came to us after outgrowing a platform they were a partner on.
